Player & Age: Jordan, 22
Contact:
Character & Canon: Whitney [Pokemon]
District: Whitewood
Personality:
Whitney is your typical friendly, outgoing girl. She may live in a big city (the biggest in Johto), but that doesn't mean she's wary at all about talking with strangers. In fact, she seems to enjoy it. She considers people close friends of hers once she gets to know them a bit, be it by talking with them or battling Pokemon with them. Because she lives in a big city, she enjoys the typical 'big city' activities, especially shopping. After all, when the player character obtains Whitney's Pokegear number, she's in the Goldenrod Department Store. Not to mention that when encountered in the Pokethelon Dome for the first time, Whitney complains about the Player Character's outfit not being appropriate for competing and brings them an entirely new outfit. Clothes and looking appropriate for the situation at hand are both important to her. Whitney is a girly-girl and likes cute things and following trends, especially Pokemon. She only recently (based on when you first challenge her in-game) got into Pokemon because "everyone was doing it." She states that Pokemon are "super-cute." Well, at least, she thinks her Pokemon are. She likely does not like the 'uglier' Pokemon types, such as bug, fighting, rock, and things like that. Shallow, yes, but if she has cute and strong Pokemon, what use does she have for Pokemon that are strong but not cute?
Whitney is basically the definition of over-emotional. Though she does mature a bit at the end of the game (in the sense that she doesn't burst into tears when defeated), she's still not the most mature person ever. She isn't embarrassed about letting people know if she's mad, upset, excited, or anything like that. She does tend to cry more often than the others, though, because she's a sore loser. That, though, like the rest of her 'extreme emotions' ends relatively quickly. Whitney may have a bit of a short attention span, because at least when she cries, after she's done, she acts like nothing's really happened. "Ah, that was a good cry!" is the most she'll say about it. Whitney is kind of a brat, and she doesn't exactly have the most... intellectual vocabulary ever. She uses words like "super-cute" and "meanie" depending on who she's talking to and what sort of mood she's in. She talks a bit like a valley girl, but it's not that bad yet. As in, she doesn't like, add like, after like every word.
Whitney is not the brightest person ever. She's forgetful and a bit of a ditz, to say the least. The player character's first encounter with Whitney in HeartGold/SoulSilver is in the Goldenrod Radio Tower, where she's trying to win a Radio Card. After the player character successfully wins one, Whitney exclaims that she thought the answer to one of the questions was 'Apricots,' when it was actually 'Apricorns.' As for forgetful, well. When defeated the first time in her Gym, after she calms down, she forgets to give the player character a badge, asking them "Huh? What do you want? A badge?" when they speak with her again.
Despite being childish, bratty, and over-emotional, Whitney IS a Gym Leader. Maybe she's not the most intelligent person there is, but she does know how to battle Pokemon. True, her strategy of rollout, attract, and milk drink with her Miltank isn't the most detailed strategy, but it gets the job done. She doesn't just compete in Pokemon Battles, though. She's a fan of the Pokethelon because it not only helps her city (since it's right outside Goldenrod), but also because it's fun.
Questions/Comments/Concerns:
The five Pokemon she'll be bringing with her are:
Miltank, Clefable, Delcatty, Cinccino, and Ambipom
